I began working with shelter dogs at the Arizona Animal Welfare League in 2005. My special interest was working in the kennels with the behaviorally challenged "misunderstood" bully breeds. After four years of volunteering at the shelter, I began volunteering with various rescue groups throughout Maricopa County.

In 2012, I became the Co-Founder of a bully breed rescue, Big Bully Rescue in Phoenix. In 2015, I became the Founder and President of Bully Pride of Arizona and Trainer & Director of Social Media with JD's Powerhouse K9 Bootcamp. 

I am a Balanced Trainer and I also use positive reinforcement, I also use a reward based relationship training style to teach and reinforce new behaviors.  I emphasize the importance of timing and understanding the use of body language which is the primary language for dogs.
